I am a photographer interested in seeing the extraordinary in the everyday and crafting images from what I find. My practice includes portraiture and landscape, with a particular interest in the psychological effect of places and the relationship between people and their environment. I also work with sound and photographs as moving images; my work on the deindustrialised landscape of the Leeds & Liverpool Canal is an example.
I’m in the final stages of completing a BA (Hons) Photography through the distance learning college of the University for the Creative Arts, The OCA. I spent a year as the OCA’s student society vice president and photography representative. I founded OCA Fotograd, a collective of final year and graduate students, to help promote work outside the college walls through a bespoke website and social media.
Over a decade of my time was spent travelling the world on business, when I practiced street photography and learned how to work discretely and respectfully people of many different cultures. I have had several images published in the Big Issue Magazine and work that features on the IMDb profile of actor Paul Butterworth.
Home is a small holding near Skipton, in North Yorkshire, where he lives with his wife and two children, along with hens, sheep and bees.
